Supervisor, Traffic Engineering
Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for a Supervisor, Traffic Engineering in the Traffic Engineering department at Ada County Highway District in Boise, Idaho. This is an exempt, full-time position with a starting wage of $71,052 - $115,606 per year, DOQ.

Primary Responsibilities:
- The Supervisor, Traffic Engineering is responsible for direct supervision of professional and technical staff.
- The incumbent provides guidance and leadership in the development of staff, assigns work, facilitates employee training, and evaluates performance.
- The incumbent will review and approve work orders pertaining to traffic safety and operations for all roadway users. Coordinates completion of work orders with Traffic Operations.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of all standards and regulations including the MUTCD, AASHTO, Americans with Disabilities (ADA); as well as Idaho State and local traffic codes.
- Requires extensive experience in traffic data collection and management, traffic engineering studies, traffic specifications, temporary traffic control plans, and ADA accessibility.
- Extensive knowledge of traffic engineering in areas such as traffic signal design, signing and striping, pedestrian and bicycle safety, analysis of traffic data including accident, speed and volume statistics.
- Requires experience in management principles and practices with the ability to supervise the work of engineers and technicians.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in Civil, Traffic, or a related Engineering field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Idaho required, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months. Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) is desirable. OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, or abilities may be acceptable.
