Reminder: Sewer line work brings weekend closure at Fairview and Five Mile intersection

Starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, August 27 through 5 a.m., Monday, August 30, an intersection closure will be in place at Fairview and Five Mile. Boise City will repair failing sewer lines within the intersection widening project area. Work will occur in the middle of the intersection and on the north and south intersection approaches of Five Mile.

Five Mile Road access: Only local traffic will be allowed on Five Mile, which will only be accessible by Ustick to the north and Emerald to the south.

Fairview Avenue access: The Fairview Avenue intersection approaches will be open to traffic up to the vicinity of the intersection; however, vehicles will not be allowed through the intersection or to turn onto Five Mile. Businesses in the area can be accessed from Fairview.

The $2.4 million intersection project is expected to be complete in November. When finished, it will improve traffic flow with new right and left turn lanes and additional through lanes. For more information on this project or the latest on all road construction projects in Ada County, log on to .
