Garden City – Rebecca W. Arnold will be the ACHD Commission President for 2011.
The president is chosen annually by the commissioners to lead the District and to set the commission meeting agenda, among other duties. Arnold, an attorney and accountant, was elected to the Commission in 2004 and re-elected in 2008. She lives on the Boise bench and represents District 2, Central Ada County.
In addition to naming the president, commissioners on Wednesday also named John S. Franden as vice president. Franden, who was originally elected in 2002 and re-elected in 2006 and 2010, will preside over meetings and serve as president in Arnold’s absence.
Before the Commission meeting, Dave Case was sworn into office, as was Franden. In November, Case won a six-way race to replace longtime Commissioner Sherry Huber, who stepped down.
