Weekend impacts scheduled for Franklin and Cloverdale intersection

Motorists and area residents should expect a closure of Cloverdale Road, just north of the Franklin/Cloverdale intersection beginning Saturday, January 22. The intersection will return to its normal operation before the morning commute on Monday, January 24. During this timeframe lane restrictions will also be in place on Cloverdale just south of the intersection and on Franklin near the intersection.

Crews will dig a trench across Cloverdale Road to upgrade underground utilities in conjunction with the Franklin/Cloverdale intersection widening project currently underway. Similar work will occur on Franklin Road near the intersection where lane restrictions will be in place. Access to the intersection will remain open with the exception of the Cloverdale closure north of the intersection. Please see the attached map.

Northbound traffic on Cloverdale will be detoured to Franklin and southbound traffic on Cloverdale may use Executive Drive to Five Mile Road as a detour.

The Franklin and Cloverdale intersection widening project began in early December 2010 and will finish in August 2011.The project will construct two travel lanes in each direction with two left turn lanes and a right turn lane at each approach. The project also includes sidewalks at the intersection and bike lanes on Cloverdale.
