Bridge resurfacing work may bring temporary traffic delays

Work to resurface the bridge on Veteran’s Memorial Parkway between State Street and Chinden Boulevard in Garden City will begin on Monday (April 30). The work is anticipated to wrap up on Thursday (May 3), weather-permitting. Work to resurface two additional bridges is also planned for May:
  • Americana Bridge between Americana Terrace and Shoreline Drive – May 7 to May 10
  • Orchard Street Bridge between Wright Street and Victory Road – May 14 to May 17
The three bridges with be resurfaced with a heavy duty overlay to help preserve and extend their lifespan. Impacts to motorists Crews will work weekdays, during daytime hours and will work on half of the bridge at a time. Traffic barrels and signs will be set up in advance of the bridge and will be in place until the work is complete. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction during the work; however flaggers will be used to direct traffic on the two-lane Orchard Street Bridge.
