Boise – The $4.6 million project will create a five-lane road with sidewalks, bike lanes and planter strips as well as medians to enhance safety and highlight the Old Ustick Town Site, the Ada County Highway District announced Wednesday.Other project features include three signalized pedestrian crossings – on Shamrock and Tylerson avenues and east of Frontier Way. As part of the project, a 10-foot-wide bicycle pathway will be created on Shamrock between Ustick and Gunsmoke roads, and continuing between Arch and Montana streets. The Ustick project implements major portions of the West Valley Neighborhood Plan and represents great cooperation between local government and area residents, said Sara Baker, ACHD president."A major project is something to be celebrated, especially one that came about from such a close partnership of Boise City, the neighborhood association and ACHD," Baker said at Wednesday’s groundbreaking.
