ACHD donates tolocal charity

Eagle – The Women’s and Children’s Alliance received $45,000 from the Ada County Highway District on Saturday, September 13, 2014, the proceeds from ACHD’s 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament.

The alliance is a local charity that focuses on men, women and children who have been victims of domestic and sexual violence. ACHD presented the WCA with a check at the awards presentation at Eagle Hills Golf Course.

One-hundred sixteen golfers (divided into 29 teams) hit brightly-colored golf balls which were colored by the children of the Women’s and Children’s Alliance—making every stroke a reminder of the cause.

"It’s great to see our employees give so much of themselves and their personal time to such an important cause," ACHD Director Bruce Wong said. "The Women’s and Children’s Alliance does such important work here in our valley, and we are proud to be able to make this donation to help further their cause."

The event drew the support of more than 100 local sponsors, proving once again the generosity of businesses in Ada County.

To date, the Ada County Highway District has donated more than $250,000 to local charities since it began the tournament in 2001.
