Boise - A portion of Warm Springs Avenue in Barber Valley will close for six months starting on Monday (Feb. 23) to allow for construction of roundabouts needed for safety and traffic flow.
New additions on Warm Springs Avenue prompt temporary closure of a portion of the road
Detour routes have been planned and signs are in place to help guide motorists around the construction area. Motorists are being advised to be cautious and mindful of detour signs. Local access to homes and businesses in the construction zone will be maintained. The Barber Valley Estates development will bring 72 new residences to the Barber Valley, triggering a requirement to improve the roads and upgrade the intersections. As a requirement of development, the contractor will be reconstructing a portion of Warm Springs Avenue from E. Warm Springs Avenue to S. Old Hickory Way, and two new roundabouts will also be built. The new roundabouts will be at the intersections of Warm Springs Avenue and Parkcenter Boulevard, and Warm Springs Avenue and S. Wise Way. Minor utility relocations will also be included with the reconstruction of the road.
