Fall/Winter resurfacing beginning in Boise

Boise – The Ada County Highway District has begun its Fiscal Year 2015 Capital Maintenance Projects. Roadways are assessed and ranked in order of need. Due to limited funds, only the highest priority roads are selected each year.

Presently, several portions of this work are currently underway.

·         Five Mile Road, Ustick Road to McMillan Road:  Milling and grading began on October 12 on the east side of the road. The west side of the road will begin on October 19th. The top lift of asphalt will be completed toward the end of October. Lane restrictions are in place, and motorists can expect delays.

·         Catalpa Drive, Collister Drive to Garden Center Way:  Pavement markings will be done October 19th and 20th.

·         River Street, Americana Boulevard to 9th Street, and 13th Street, Shoreline Drive to Front Street:  Storm drains are being installed at both of these locations. Lane restrictions are in place, and motorists can expect delays.

·         Fairview Avenue, Cloverdale Road to Five Mile Road; Bogus Basin Road, Curling Drive to Milepost 3; and Curling Drive, Bogus Basin Road to Braemere Road:  Pedestrian ramps are being improved.

Road construction will be permitted on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Weekend work is possible between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Road resurfacing improves the condition of the roadway surface and increases the road’s longevity. More than 68 pedestrian ramps will also be upgraded to meet current American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The overlay project will continue through the spring of 2016. ACHD will keep the travelling public up to date on traffic impacts as other portions of the road resurfacing project begin.
