ACHD holds open house to discuss Capitol Boulevard concepts
Boise - The Ada County Highway District will host a community open house tomorrow evening to talk about concepts that are being considered for Capitol Boulevard between the Boise River and Rose Hill/Federal Way. The concepts were developed from public input received last spring, and include:
· A two-way bike lane down the center of the street
· Protected bike lanes on both sides of the street*
· Shared-use paths (space for walkers and riders) on both sides of the street
· A two-way protected bike lane on the west side of the street*
(*Requires removal of southbound travel lane on Capitol Boulevard, south of the river.)
The open house will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the Sage International School located at 601 S. 9th Street in downtown Boise. People who are unable to attend are encouraged to view the open house materials online at http://www.achdidaho.org/, and participate in an online survey at http://bit.ly/CapitolBlvd. Written comments can be sent to 3775 Adams Street, Garden City, ID 83714, or via email at Projects@achdidaho.org.
The Ada County Highway District is collaborating with the City of Boise and Boise State University in an effort to make Capitol Boulevard between the Boise River and Rose Hill/Federal Way a more convenient place for people to walk and bike.
