Weekend events to cause partial road closures and lane restrictions

Boise – Two events occurring on Saturday will create partial temporary road closures and lane restrictions. They are as follows:

·         The Veterans Day Parade will take place on Saturday (November 7) at 9:25 a.m. The parade route is Jefferson Street and Bannock Street between 4th Street and 11th Street.

o   4th Street, 5th Street, 6th Street, Capitol Boulevard, 8th Street, 9th Street, 10th Street, 11th Street and 12th Street between Idaho Street and State Street will be closed. Bannock Street and Jefferson Street between 3rd Street and 13th Street will also be closed. The closures will be in place from 4 a.m. to noon.

o   Motorists approaching road closure barricades will also see lane closures at 5th Street and Capitol Boulevard between Main Street and Idaho Street, and at 6th Street and 9th Street between Washington Street and State Street.

·         14th Annual Zeitgeist Half Marathon will take place on Saturday (November 7) from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

o   Seamans Gulch from the Ada County Landfill to Dry Creek will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to around 10:30 a.m.

o   Hill Road between Pierce Park and Seaman’s Gulch will have lane restrictions in place from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 2:00 p.m.

o   Approximately 700 participants are anticipated to compete, and the Boise Motor Escort and Boise Police Department will be assisting with traffic control.

Motorists should expect delays in both of these areas on Saturday, and should choose alternate routes when possible.
