Boise – Starting Monday (February 1), the Ada County Highway District will begin construction to widen Five Mile Road between Fairview Avenue and Ustick Road to five lanes. The road will be reduced to 2 lanes, and motorists can expect delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible. Flaggers will be on site to help guide traffic through the construction zone.
Widening project on Five Mile, Fairview to Ustick to begin Monday
Along with widening Five Mile Road, crews will construct bike lanes on both sides of the road, as well as add curb, gutter and sidewalks. A HAWK (High-intensity Activated crosswalk) will be installed near Five Mile Road and Granger Street.
The project will improve the traffic flow along Five Mile Road and improve pedestrian and bicycle safety and connectivity. This project is expected to be complete later this fall.
