ACHD receives nationally recognized budget award

Ada County – The Ada County Highway District received the prestigious Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The award was presented to Christine Race-Tannler, ACHD Budget Analyst, on behalf of the Highway District. This is the eighth Budget Presentation Award in a row that has been won by ACHD.

"Christine’s leadership creates a budget that shows what ACHD will build, how we will maintain what we have and what other activities we’ll undertake to give Ada County residents a first-class road network," said Bruce Wong, ACHD Director. "It’s great to see GFOA once again recognize our efforts."

The award is given to government agencies whose budgets meet nationally recognized guidelines for budget presentation. Each budget is rated based on its ability to serve as a policy document; a financial plan; an operations guide; and a communications device.

From there, the budget must pass another 14 mandatory criteria to be selected for the honor. Nearly 1500 participants received the Award for budgets beginning in 2014.

This awards program through the GFOA is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.
