Tree lighting ceremony and road work to impact local roadways

Ada County – The annual tree lighting ceremony and other road work on Ada County roadways will impact traffic starting Monday.

·         The 2016 Idaho Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held Monday, November 28th from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Jefferson Street between 6th Street and 8th Street will be closed, and Capitol Boulevard north of Bannock Street through Jefferson Street will be closed.  Both closures will be facilitated and staffed by Boise Police Motorcycle Officers. Detour routes will be posted.

·         Hill Road east of 24th Street will have lane restrictions with flagging starting November 28 through December 2. Idaho Power will be doing power pole work.  

·         Ten Mile Road between Lake Hazel Road and Columbia Road will be closed between November 29 and December 2. Local access only will be allowed off of Columbia Road. Crews will be blasting lava rock for upcoming sewer work. Detour routes will be posted.

·        Linder Road north of Chinden Boulevard will have lane restrictions starting November 28 through December 9. Crews will be doing median work.  

·         6th Street south of Grove Street to south of Broad Street will have lane restrictions starting November 28 through December 9. Boise City crews will be doing geothermal work.  

·         Broad Street between 5th Street and 6th Street, and between 6th Street and Capitol Boulevard, will be closed starting November 28 through December 9. Boise City crews will be doing geothermal work. Detour routes will be posted. 

·         Ustick Road at Troxel Way will have lane restrictions starting November 28 through December 2 to allow crews to access a manhole. 

·         Cherry Lane at Todd Way will have lane restrictions on November 29. Idaho Power will be doing power pole work.  

·         Warm Springs Avenue east of Walling Drive will have lane restrictions with flagging starting November 25 through December 5 to allow crews to access a manhole.

·         Ten Mile Road at Pine Avenue will have lane restrictions on November 25 to allow crews access to a manhole. 

Motorists can expect delays in these areas, and should use caution.
