ACHD to hold open house for the Fairview and Cole Intersection Project tonight

Boise – The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will hold an Open House tonight (December 15) on improvements scheduled to start next month at the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Cole Road. The Open House will be held at the Westgate Shopping Center at 7500 Fairview Avenue (in the old Hastings building) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

ACHD will begin a major road construction project starting in January to widen and improve the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Cole Road. The project includes increasing the number of through lanes and turn lanes on all four sides of the intersection, adding bicycle lanes and new sidewalks, and upgrading the traffic signal.

The Open House will give people an opportunity to view the final project design, as well as get a feel for construction impacts and view the detour routes. ACHD staff will be on hand to answer questions.

During construction, motorists can expect road closures on Cole Road, lane restrictions and reduced speed limits. Construction will be complete by late summer 2017. These improvements will enhance safety and traffic flow along both corridors and through the intersection.
