Holiday Fun Run and other roadwork to impact local roadways

Ada County – The Treasure Valley YMCA’s Annual Christmas Fun Run, along with road construction projects, will impact local roadways starting as early as tomorrow (December 16).

·         The Treasure Valley YMCA Annual Christmas Fun Run will be held Saturday, December 17 from10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Approximately 2,800 participants are expected to attend. Boise Police will be managing rolling road closures throughout the duration of the event. There are three different race courses:

o   1 Mile Reindeer Dash

§  Participants head northwest on Washington Street;

§  North on 15th Street;

§  East on Resseguie Street;

§  South on 12th Street;

§  Southeast on Franklin Street toward 11th Street to the finish.

o   2 Mile Run

§  Participants head northwest on Washington Street;

§  North on 15th Street;

§  East on Heron Street;

§  South on 12th Street;

§  Southeast on Franklin Street toward 10th Street to the finish.

o   6 Mile Run

§  Participants head northwest on Washington Street;

§  North on 15th Street;

§  Northeast on Highland View Drive;

§  Southwest down Sunset Peak Drive Street (dirt);

§  South on 8th Street;

§  West on Lemp Street;

§  South on 12th Street;

§  Southeast on Franklin Street toward 11th Street to the finish.

·         8th Street (west side) between Bannock Street and Jefferson Street will have lane and pedestrian restrictions on December 19 to allow Idaho Power crews access to a manhole.

·         Amity Road, east of Rimview Way, will have lane restrictions with flagging on December 19 to allow Idaho Power crews to do power pole work.

·         The intersection of Benjamin Lane and Westpark Street will have lane restrictions with flagging on December 18 for power work.

·         Cole Road, south of Amity Road will have lane restrictions on December 19 to allow Idaho Power crews to do overhead maintenance work.

·         Five Mile Road, north of Divide Pass Drive will have lane restrictions on December 16 to allow Century Link access for utility work.

·         Floating Feather Road at Hornbeck Avenue will have lane restrictions with flagging December 19-20 to allow Idaho Power crews access for utility work.

·         Fort Street between 10th Street and 11th Street will be closed December 17 for tree removal.

·         Gary Lane between Hill Road and State Street will have lane restrictions with flagging on December 19-23 for utility work.

·         Lusk Street between Island Avenue and Royal Boulevard will be closed on December 17 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the Boise Bike Project Giveaway.

·         All legs of the intersection at Pennsylvania Street and Parkcenter Boulevard will have lane restrictions with flagging on the December 17 for tree removal. The signal will be in red flash mode.

·         Pine Avenue between Locust Grove Road and Stonehenge Way will have lane restrictions with flagging December 19-30 to allow Idaho Power crews access for power pole work.

·         Americana Boulevard and Emerald Street, 250 feet east of Latah Street to Marshall Street will have lane restriction December 19 to allow Cable One Crews access for overhead utility work.

Delays can be expected in these areas, and motorists are advised to use caution, and choose alternate routes of travel whenever possible.
