Boise – The Ada County Highway District will begin construction to widen and improve the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Cole Road starting on Monday, January 2. The portion of Cole Road just south of Fairview Avenue will be closed through late February to allow crews access to replace a canal structure underneath the road. The canal must be replaced before the road can be rebuilt.
Construction at the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Cole Road starts January 2
Motorists will be detoured to Milwaukee and Curtis during this closure. Businesses and homes adjacent to the closure will be accessible throughout construction.
Motorists can expect delays in this area, and should plan alternate routes of travel whenever possible.
This is Phase I of the three-phase construction project. Crews will begin work on Phase 2 on the north side of the intersection starting in March.
This project will add additional dedicated turning lanes, through lanes, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, and a new traffic signal.
The intersection project is expected to be complete in August.
