ACHD invites public comment on need and location of walking/biking paths in Northwest Boise

Boise - The Ada County Highway District in cooperation with the City of Boise is inviting the public's comment on the Northwest Boise Walking and Biking Plan. It's a chance for the public to voice their opinions about where more walking and bicycling paths should be constructed in this part of town. An open house will be held tomorrow evening from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Castle Hills Church of the Nazarene (5707 West Castle Drive) in Boise. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions. The first 20 people through the door will receive a free set of bicycle lights.

Participants will be given numbered stickers to identify and prioritize biking and walking needs and destinations on local maps. After placing the sticker, they will be asked to leave more specific comments corresponding to the numbered stickers.

The feedback from the people will help guide identification and prioritization of projects to be included in the final Northwest Boise Walking and Biking Plan. These projects will be evaluated annually for priority and available funding.

People unable to attend the open house can view the project area and leave their comments on the ACHD website, Northwest Boise Walking and Biking Plan. Comments will be taken until May 21, 2015.
