Garden City - For the ninth year in a row, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. Christine Race-Tannler, ACHDs Budget Coordinator, received the Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation.
The 2017 budgets of over 1,600 participants from all over the country are evaluated to receive the honor. The award is given to government agencies whose budgets are found to be proficient by nationally recognized standards in serving as a policy document; as a financial plan; as an operations guide; and as a communications device, as well as 14 other mandatory criteria under those categories.
ACHD received 28 awards overall for their 2017 budget.
"Christine is a key member of the budget committee who helps to create a document that not only exhibits the future plans of ACHD, but also serves as an excellent budgetary example to other government agencies," said Bruce Wong, ACHD Director.
This awards program through the GFOA is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.
