Construction Update as of 12/11/2020: Asphalt paving has been postponed until the Spring of 2021 due to cold temperatures and the presence of frost in the ground. Crews placed temporary striping on Thursday, December 10th, to help delineate travel lanes until the spring. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this delay.
The asphalt paving originally scheduled for the week of November 23rd was delayed due to weather. The paving is tentatively rescheduled for the week of December 7th; however, this will depend on the temperature being warm enough to properly place asphalt. If the ground is still frozen, even with warmer daytime temperatures, that would undermine the quality of the asphalt.
Please note, during asphalt paving there will be temporary delays (up to 20 minutes) as paving operations cross side streets, driveway approaches, and work through the intersection. There will be flaggers to assist motorists.
If temperatures do not allow for asphalt paving then that work would be postponed until warmer weather in the Spring of 2021. Traffic will remain in its current configuration until that time.
Asphalt paving scheduled for the week of November 23rd was delayed due to weather. Paving operations will resume when the temperature allows. More information will be provided before paving resumes.
As early as Monday, November 23rd, crews will begin asphalt paving at the Linder and Deer Flat intersection. This work is expected to complete before Thanksgiving. There may be temporary travel delays, up to 20 minutes, as crews pave through the intersection. Motorists are encouraged to plan extra time into their commute and to drive with caution. There will be flaggers to assist as needed. Please note, asphalt paving is weather dependent and the schedule is subject to change.
Permanent striping will begin late November or early December, weather permitting. Traffic will be shifted into the final configuration in mid-December.
The west half of the north leg of Linder was paved on October 30th and traffic was shifted on November 3rd. Crews have begun excavating and placing base gravels on the east half of the north leg of Linder. On the west leg of Deer Flat the paving on the south half is complete. Crews are working on finishing base gravels on the north half. There is ongoing work on concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk on all four legs of the intersection.
Crews are working on the north leg of Linder and the west leg of Deer Flat. Utility relocations were completed September 16th
Construction is anticipated to be complete in Winter 2020.
Utility work began in January and will continue throughout the project. When complete the intersection will feature:
