Collister Drive, State Street to Hill Road

General Description:

On September 28, 2011 the ACHD Commission decided not to proceed with this project.

ACHD staff will be presenting the proposed Collister project to the ACHD Commissioners on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the 6 p.m. Commission meeting. The Commissioners will consider whether the project should move forward or not. The public is encouraged to attend as there will be an opportunity for public comment before the Commission makes their decision.

Each alternative includes curb, gutter, sidewalk and bike lanes on both sides of Collister.

What purpose would pedestrian facilities serve?

If constructed, pedestrian facilities would provide a safe route for children walking and biking to local schools, increase safety for pedestrians and bicyclists using Collister Drive and improve neighborhood connectivity and access to transit, shopping, the library and the greenbelt.

Where is the proposal at in the process?

The Collister proposal is in the very beginning phase, the “concept” stage. At this stage ideas are being explored and nothing has been designed.
