The Ada County Highway District will begin construction on a project to install underground equipment along Deer Flat Road between Linder Road and State Highway 69 to improve traffic flow and safety for the traveling public.
The project includes the installation of conduit, fiber-optic cable and a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera along the north side of Deer Flat Road. This installation will improve the Intelligent Transportation System and will enable ACHD to monitor traffic movement and make signal timing changes at the intersection of Deer Flat Road/Linder Road.
The $56,000 project is being funded by ACHD as part of its Traffic Safety Level of Effort program.
Construction: Early January 2013 to Late March 2013
Work will occur during the daytime hours from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and may include the following impacts: general construction noise, dust, temporary lane restrictions, equipment backup alarms, and ground vibration.
The installation of this equipment will be done within the existing right-of-way along Deer Flat Road and should have little impact to private property, with the exception at driveway crossings, where impacts will be temporary.
