Ten Mile Road, McMillan Road to Chinden Boulevard

Construction Update as of 03/19/2020: Crews will be paving the west side of Ten Mile Road, McMillan to Chinden on March 23-24th. There will be an evening traffic swap shortly after the paving is complete. UPDATE: The swap expected to occur on Wednesday, March 25th outside of the AM peak commute. This was previously scheduled for the evening of March 24th. Traffic will swap to the west side of Ten Mile Road in order for work to begin on the east.

Road Closures:

  • The west side of Lost Rapids Drive where it intersects with Ten Mile Road will be closed March 23-24th.
  • The east side of Lost Rapids Drive where it intersects with Ten Mile Road will be closed on March 25th and will remain closed until early May.

This project is expected to complete Fall 2020.

About the Project:

Improvements on Ten Mile between McMillan and Chinden will include two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane, bike lanes, sidewalks, and a new pedestrian signal at Malta Drive. In addition, a new traffic signal and additional thru and turn lanes will be constructed at the Ten Mile and Lost Rapids Drive intersection.

Construction Impacts
Impacts could include lane restrictions with flaggers, temporary closures, general construction noise, dust, equipment back-up alarms and ground vibration. Most work will be during the day, Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but could include night and weekend work if necessary.

Other Work in the Area

  • ChindenWest - The Idaho Transportation Department will be working on the ChindenWest improvements project on Chinden Boulevard between State Highway 16 and Linder Road at the same time as Ten Mile, McMillan to Chinden. 
  • Ten Mile, Ustick to McMillan - Work on Ten Mile, Ustick to McMillan is expected to start early 2020.
