28th Street and Hazel Street Pedestrian Improvements

This project is considered substantially complete as of May 29th, 2020.

There was a preconstruction conference on February 10th.

General Description:

Construct bulb-outs at the intersections of 28th Street & Irene, 28th Street and Bella Street, and Hazel Street to provide traffic calming. The project also includes stormwater infrastructure improvements. Additional work at the intersections of 18th street and Brumback, and 22nd Street and Irene will improve drainage. There will be detached sidewalk added to the south side of Hazel between 28th Street and 26th Street to improve pedestrian connectivity.

Construction Impacts: Impacts could include, but may not be limited to, road closures, lane restrictions with flagging, general construction noise, dust, equipment back up alarms and ground vibration.  Work may also impact on street parking. Work will occur during the day, Monday through Friday, but could include night and weekend work if necessary.
