Capitol Boulevard and Island Avenue Pedestrian Crossing

Project Update:  This project is substantially complete as of 11/29/17.

General Description:
Starting in early October, the Ada County Highway District will build a two-phase pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Island Avenue and Capitol Boulevard. The signal will look just like a regular traffic signal, but will not be activated until a pedestrian pushes the button to cross. This project will enhance safety for pedestrians crossing to Boise State University and the Lusk District.

Motorists can expect lane restrictions during construction. However, no lane restrictions will be allowed between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. for northbound vehicles, and between the hours of 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. for southbound vehicles.
