General Description:

In 2016 the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) Commission adopted Alternative D as the preferred concept for the Broadway/Warm Springs/Avenue B Intersection Concept Study. Alternative D included a multi-use pathway thru Dona Larsen Park, a popular idea as it offered connectivity from Broadway Avenue to Warm Springs Avenue.

Construction to start at the end of May

While the intersection project design is not anticipated to begin for several years, ACHD is pleased to announce that we have moved forward with the multi-use pathway and expect to begin construction on the pathway at the end of May 2019. Construction is anticipated to be complete at the end of August 2019.

The new pathway thru Dona Larsen Park will include:

  • A multi-use pathway extending from Warm Springs Avenue to Broadway Avenue
  • Pathway lighting
  • Signalized pedestrian crossings at Broadway Avenue and Warm Springs Avenue
  • Bike lanes on Broadway Avenue from the new pedestrian crossing south to connect to existing bike lanes just south of Front Street.

Please note that each pedestrian crossing will include the appropriate street lighting for safety.

Construction Impacts

Impacts could include lane restrictions with flaggers, general construction noise, dust, equipment back up alarms, and ground vibration.
