Environmental Engineer/ Assistant Environmental Engineer
Applications are now being accepted for the position of Environmental Engineer or Assistant Environmental Engineer in the Environmental Department at Ada County Highway District in the Boise, Idaho area. These are exempt level positions, and the starting annual salary is $58,739 - $76,107/ DOQ. These positions are eligible for a Sign on Bonus!

Primary Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Engineer performs professional engineering work in the environmental and civil engineering disciplines. The incumbent manages the water quality engineering program and serves as the stormwater quality representative on capital project teams.
- Under the supervision of the Environmental Manager, the Assistant Environmental Engineer applies the application of professional environmental and civil engineering knowledge and skills to engineering projects. The incumbent coordinates the water quality engineering program and serves as the stormwater quality representative on capital project teams.
- Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with irrigation districts, contract engineers and designers, State and local boards and commissions, property owners, the public and other District employees.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate must have considerable knowledge of environmental sciences and civil engineering, as they relate to design, repair and construction of stormwater facilities including green stormwater infrastructure and other types of public works related facilities.
- Hydrology and hydrogeology knowledge and experience desired.
- Knowledge and experience using vegetation for pollutant removal/attenuation desired.
- Knowledge and experience in wastewater and solid waste management desired.
- The successful candidate must have proven verbal and written communication skills.
- Environmental Engineer: A Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering and professional level engineering and environmental sciences experience. Registered Professional Engineer in Idaho is required.
- Assistant Environmental Engineer: A Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering and professional level engineering and environmental sciences experience. Possession of an active Idaho Engineer Intern (EI) certificate within one year is required.
- OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience may be acceptable.
