Student Intern - Development Application Review/Plan Review

Applications are now being accepted for a Student Intern in the Development Services Department of the Engineering Division at the Ada County Highway District. This is a paid intern position with a wage of $14.00 per hour. This position will remain open until filled.
The Student Intern position is available to full-time students only. Student Interns may work a flexible schedule with a maximum of 24 hours per week during the school year, and 40 hours per week during the summer and other school breaks.
Primary Responsibilities:
- The Student Intern will assist the Planners in the review of development applications, which includes data entry, policy and site plan analysis and report writing.
- The Student Intern will assist the Engineering Technicians in the review of roadway plans and plats and prepare associated legal documents such as easements and agreements.
Qualifications:
- Experience reading civil and architectural plans; basic knowledge of construction practices and procedures; basic knowledge of materials used in construction and roadway development.
- The successful candidate must be organized, detail oriented, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to perform technical written work.
- Must be able to meet strict deadlines and to work effectively both independently and in a team setting.
- Requires proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must have a valid Idaho Driver's License and be 18 years or older.
- A Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Planning major is preferred.
