Lab Coordinator
Ada County Highway District is accepting applications for the position of a Lab Coordinator in the Material Testing Lab. Starting wage is $28.40 - $32.60 per hour/DOQ.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Conducts research and study of the structure and chemical properties of various natural and construction materials, including soil, aggregates, concrete and asphalt.
- The Lab Coordinator supervises and coordinates the activities of the Materials Laboratory and performs technical field duties for quality assurance inspection and materials testing.
- The incumbent supervises a team and is responsible for training team members on safe operation and compliance to meet the Districts safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must have considerable knowledge and experience with laboratory and materials testing principles, practices and techniques, asphalt and concrete mix designs. Knowledge of practical
application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and testing of road and bridge construction materials;
- Must have considerable knowledge of the composition, microstructure, and engineering behavior of various materials used in civil engineering applications.
- A valid Idaho driver's license is required; ability to obtain license certification as a Radiation Safety Officer is required. WAQTC and Inspector Qualification Program (IQP) certified
or the ability to be within 6 months. Must be able to occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs.
- A bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry or related field is desired; good working knowledge of the principles, practices and testing related
to materials in construction; supervisory training; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience.
