ACHD applied for and secured Fiscal Year 2018 Local Highway Safety Improvement Program (LHSIP) funding to install street lighting on unlighted segments of State Street. Currently State Street, between 16th Street and 23rd Street, has lighting only at the intersections. This segment of State Street was selected based on night time crash data on the unlighted segments. This State/Local Agreement (SLA) sets out the responsibilities of the parties in the design phase of this project. This Agreement must be signed before $67,000 in design funds can be obligated for the project. A separate Agreement for Construction funds will come before the Commission in FY2018. Staff recommends approving the SLA for design. |
