Construction Update 9/30/22: West corner removed. Prepping for pole on West corners. 

Construction Update 9/23/22: NE corner placed. SE corner concrete placed. Paving on East side ongoing. 

Construction Update 9/16/22: NE corner placed. SE corner waiting on water line relocation. Water line will be installed from 9/14 to 9/16 during nights only.

Construction Update 8/5/22: Construction is anticipated to start mid-August.

This summer, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will start construction on the Fairview Avenue and Orchard Street intersection. This is a community improvement project which includes replacing the pedestrian poles with an Accessible Pedestrian Signal (APS), compatible push buttons, and upgraded pedestrian ramps. Construction is anticipated to be complete in the fall of 2022. 

What are APS?

Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS) communicate information about the WALK/DON'T WALK intervals in non-visual formats (i.e. audible tones and vibrating surfaces) to pedestrians who are blind or have low vision.
