Kuna Middle School Zone Project

In early June, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) will start construction on the Kuna Middle School Zone Project. The purpose of this project is to improve safety near Kuna Middle School. Construction is anticipated to be completed late in the summer of 2022.

Project Description:

  • Install a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) at the intersection of Ten Mile Road and Boise Street at the northern cross walk. A Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) is also being installed across Boise Street, halfway between Ten Mile Road and Strike Way.
  • Place additional street lighting on the southeast corner of the Ten Mile Road and Sego Prairie Street intersection.
  • As part of this project, a water line across Ten Mile Road at the south leg of the Boise Street and Ten Mile Road intersection will be installed.
  • School zone beacons will be installed on Ten Mile Road and Boise Street near Kuna Middle School.

Construction Impacts:

  • The Ten Mile Road and Boise Street intersection will be temporarily closed during construction
  • Lane restrictions with flaggers
  • General construction noise, dust, equipment backup alarms, and ground vibration    
  • Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. unless otherwise approved  
  • The contractor will work with homeowners to minimize impacts
