Columbus Street, Overland Road to Kootenai Street

This project is substantially complete as of November 9th, 2019.

Construction Update as of 9/25/19: Asphalt paving is complete on Columbus Street. Minor work remains, including small sections of concrete sidewalk and landscape repair.

Construction Update as of 9/16/19:  Kootenai is substantially complete. Columbus is closed between Overland and Kootenai through the second week in September. Concrete work on the east side of Columbus is mostly complete. Crews are placing concrete for curb, gutter, sidewalk, and driveways on the west side of Columbus. Asphalt paving started Friday, September 6th and was completed Tuesday, September 10th. Minor work remains, including manhole adjustments, striping, and landscape repair. Underground work on Overland is complete. Crews are prepping for curb and gutter.

Construction Update as of 9/06/19:

Columbus is closed between Overland and Kootenai through the first week of September. Concrete work on the east side of Columbus is mostly complete. Crews are placing concrete for curb, gutter, sidewalk and driveways on the west side of Columbus. Asphalt paving is tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 6th, but is dependent on pipe repairs and concrete work being complete. Kootenai is substantially complete. Underground work on Overland is complete. Crews are prepping for curb and gutter.

Update as of 8/26/19:

Columbus is closed between Overland and Kootenai. Crews working on placement of base gravels and prepping for curb, gutter, and sidewalk. Concrete work is started the week of August 19th and is ongoing.

Utility relocations are ongoing.

There was a preconstruction conference on February 8th.

Originally, this project was to be constructed during the spring/summer of 2018. Unfortunately, the bids we received for construction were not satisfactory. As a result, the project went back out to bid the fall of 2018 and construction is set to begin late February 2019.

General Description:

• Construct curb, gutter and sidewalk on both sides of Columbus Street.
• Maintain on-street parking on both sides of the street.
