Kootenai Street, Vista Avenue to Federal Way

Construction Update as of 9/25/19: Kootenai is substantially complete.

Paving on Kootenai is complete. Minor work remains, including manhole adjustments, thermoplastic pavement markings, fencing and landscaping.

Kootenai Street was paved on July 25th. Roadway will be striped and re-opened on July 26th. Minor work remains, including manhole adjustments, thermoplastic pavement markings, fencing and landscaping.

Kootenai Street will be closed July 10th-24th for curb, gutter, sidewalk, and driveway approaches on the north side of the street, followed by milling and asphalt paving.

The curb, gutter, sidewalk, and driveway approaches on the south side of Kootenai Street, west of Columbus Street are complete. Crews will be working on the north side of Kootenai Street next.

Railroad work on Kootenai is complete. Please keep in mind that there will continue to be travel delays on Kootenai throughout construction.

There was a preconstruction conference held on February 8th. Utility work on Kootenai began on February 13th.

The contractor for this project will be Central Paving.

Update:

Originally, this project was to be constructed during the spring/summer of 2018. Unfortunately, the bids we received for construction were not satisfactory. As a result, the project will go back out to bid the fall of 2018 and we anticipate construction will begin spring 2019.
