Ada County Highway District

Airport Road and Overland Road Corridor Study

General Description:

Public Involvement Opportunity

The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) Commission will consider adoption of the Airport/Overland Road Corridor Study Plan, which includes a refined version of Alternative 2B, on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 6 p.m.  If adopted, the new alignment would be constructed as adjoining properties develop.

The Commission meeting begins at 6 p.m.; however, this project is one of several agenda items and may not be the first item discussed. ACHD staff will make a brief presentation followed by an opportunity for public comment before the Commission acts.

To view the Concept Plan and refined version of Alternative 2B, please see "Related Documents" to the right of the screen.

If you are unable to attend the Commission meeting, but would like to submit comments, please send them to 3775 Adams St., Garden City, ID 83714 or to projects@achdidaho.org.

The study is in its beginning stages; when concluded, it will identify an alignment for a future corridor to provide improved east-west connection south of 1-84, between the Nampa Airport and the Garrity Interchange on the west to Ten Mile Road near Overland Road on the east. Linking the two counties will greatly enhance mobility as the region continues to grow and provide an alternate route to I-84.

Once a proposed alignment has been identified, the agencies can start preserving right-of-way as the area develops. Construction of any proposed roadway would likely occur incrementally as adjoining properties develop or if funding becomes available. This is anticipated to be 20 years in the future.
