ADA COUNTY — The Ada County Highway District received over 1,000 creative, punny, and wintry name submissions for their second annual Name a Plow contest. With the list narrowed down to 100, ACHD is now looking to the public to select the winning names.
Community members now have the opportunity to vote for their favorite names to adorn three ACHD snow plows that will be in service for the upcoming winter season. Ada County residents can vote on ACHD’s website at achdidaho.org/nameaplow. A fourth name will be chosen through an internal contest.
Voting has begun and will run until Friday, October 25. Voters can select up to three choices. The three names with the most amount of votes will be added to the plow blades. The winning submitters will each receive $100 gift cards.
This marks ACHD’s second “Name a Plow” contest. In 2023, residents and staff named four plows: Ashton Jeanty, The Big Leplowski, Snotato, and CTRL+SALT+DELETE.
