Civil plans are engineering documents that show how a development will affect the public right of way. They must be submitted to the ACHD for review before any construction can begin.

To submit your civil plans, you will need to:

  1. Submit your development application to the relevant locality.
  2. Obtain a permit from the ACHD.
  3. Hire a civil engineer to prepare your civil plans.
  4. Submit your civil plans to the ACHD for review.

Check Plan Status

To check where your civil plans fall in the review process, you can check the Plan Review Queue. The Plan Review Queue is updated every night, so you can check it regularly to see if your plans have been reviewed.

Tips on using this document:

  • The closer your project is to the top of the queue, the closer you are to being approved.
  • ACHD reviews 2nd submittals before 1st submittals.
  • After you are approved, your project will be taken off the list and you can expect to be contacted by ACHD shortly.
