Leading Pedestrian Interval Initiative

Photo showing woman's legs and dog making their way across a crosswalk.

As part of ACHD's commitment to safety for all road users, we are working to install leading pedestrian intervals (LPIs) at all signalized intersections in Ada County. LPIs give pedestrians a few seconds to start crossing the street before cars start moving. This extra time can help to prevent crashes and injuries.

ACHD is constantly looking for ways to improve safety for all road users. LPIs are one of the many tools that ACHD is using to make Ada County a safer place.

Please watch this page to keep an eye on our progress for this important initiative.
