To keep Ada County safe, we rely on an informed community. When residents are informed and engaged, they help make Ada County a safer place for everyone.

Using Roundabouts Safely

Roundabouts are used throughout Ada County as an alternative to traditional intersections with traffic signals. They have many benefits, including fewer vehicle conflict points than traditional intersections. This results in fewer crashes, injuries, and fatal crashes than signalized intersections.

Keeping our Waters Safe from Pollution

Keeping our streets and waterways clean is essential to our health and safety. When we rake leaves into the street, they clog storm drains and cause localized flooding. This can be a safety hazard for commuters and neighboring properties. It can also contaminate our waterways, as the leaves decompose and release nutrients that can feed algae blooms. Another way to keep our waterways clean is to properly dispose of pet waste. When it rains, bacteria from pet waste is carried from our backyards, parks, and trails to the nearest storm drain. This bacteria can contaminate our local waterways in which we love to play and many species call home.
