Welcome to the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) Alley Paving Program! This initiative empowers property owners to take an active role in enhancing their alleyways by paving them to address dust, pothole, and mud-related concerns. Before proceeding with your decision, please note the following key information

1. Cost-Sharing Basis
This program operates on a cost-sharing basis. ACHD provides the necessary asphalt material for the reconstruction, but property owners are solely responsible for all construction costs, including design, paving, and other associated expenses.

2. Drainage Impacts
Consideration of drainage changes is crucial when improving your alley surface. According to ISPWC specifications, alleys are paved with a 2% grade from the center, forming a crowned alley. Consequently, runoff that once collected in the gravel or dirt alley may now drain towards adjacent properties and structures. Understanding these drainage adjustments is essential for the success and functionality of your upgraded alley.

By acknowledging these factors, property owners can ensure proper planning and mitigation measures are implemented during the alley reconstruction project.
